Maps

This page is dedicated to maps, so that you all can see where I live and where I’ve been.

Where I live:

Fincha’a: My home! Its population is less than 10,000, and you can read all about it in my blog.
Shambu: The closest town to Fincha, and the closest town with Peace Corps Volunteers. It’s an hour away, and has a population of 30,000, two fellow PCVs, cake, and avocados.

Where I’ve been:

Key:
Red Dots: The red dots indicated towns that I’ve been to. I hope to update this map as I do more traveling (though that won’t be for awhile now). The size of the red dots does not indicate the size of the town. Rather, it indicates my lack of skill when using Paint and my attempt to make the dots easily visible.

Towns that I’ve been to, in alphabetical order:
Addis Ababa: The capital city of Ethiopia, where the Peace Corps office is located.
Ambo: A large town two hours outside Addis on my way to Fincha. I had a two week in-service training there. It has pizza, a fellow PCV, and doughnuts.
Assela: The hub town during pre-service training. It's cold and cloudy there, but it has Snickers.
Fincha: My home! Its population is less than 10,000, and you can read all about it in my blog.
Huruta: The town where I lived for 2 months during pre-service training, spanning June-August of 2012
Shambu: The closest town to Fincha with Peace Corps Volunteers. It’s an hour away, and has two fellow PCVs
Wukro: The town that I visited in early June, 2012, to “demystify” the PC experience the first weekend that I was in country. Population 35,000.

  1. PVCs, cake, and avocados - very important. This is cool addition to the blog; I didn't notice it before! How did you get draw the squigly lines on the map? That's cool!

  2. Thanks! I used Microsoft Paint, and just "painted" the lines over the map. The same is true for the arrows. I was pretty proud of myself. :)
